What can our genes tell us about who we are?

Sciencewise-ERC is delighted to highlight ‘My Beautiful Genome’, a Dana Centre event taking place on 15 September 2011. The event will be hosted by the Science Museum, a key partner in Sciencewise-ERC’s recent pilot series looking at facilitating greater interaction with the public in new areas of science and technology.

My Beautiful Genome

Author and science journalist, Dr Lone Frank, along with evolutionary developmental biologist at Imperial College London, Armand Leroi, will examine current scientific thinking behind human genetics and explore the sometimes-surprising discoveries relating to inherited traits and how these can influence our adult behaviour.

The event will also consider the limitations of modern science in deciphering human genetic coding and examine the extent to which modern science truly understands this relatively unfamiliar area of research.
