Background

This project was established to help bring about a step change in thinking and acting on public engagement in the lifecycle of nanotechnologies. Find out more about the project background.

Aims and Objectives

  • Engage stakeholders in the scoping and development of dialogue.
  • Undertake a deliberative dialogue process with a diverse set of the public which aligned with the Government’s Guiding Principles for Public Dialogue on Science and Technology.
  • Capture, analyse and report the results of the dialogue to inform policy recommendations.

Key Impacts

  • Fed into the Nanotechnology Issues Dialogue Group (NIDG), a cross-Government working group which co-ordinates the delivery of the Government’s commitments on nanotechnology.
  • Created interest around the field of public participation and opportunities for civil servants to learn more and get involved.
