International deliberation on biodiversity announced

The Danish Board of Technology has just announced World Wide Views on Biodiversity, an international deliberation on biodiversity to take place on 19 May 2012. The project will engage thousands of ordinary people around the world in the process of policy-making and awareness raising to sustain a living and healthy planet. The project follows the previous World Wide Views on Climate Change, which came up with recommendations in the run up to the Copenhagen negotiations. Interestingly, after being provided with information and spending time deliberating in small groups over the issues, citizens were willing to go much further to tackle climate change (including making personal sacrifices) than national politicians. Policy makers will be watching out for the responses on the issue of biodiversity.

The Danish Board of Technology is calling for partners and funders from around the world to take part.
