Stakeholder Engagement in Action - Design

Mon 12/01/2009

Register: www.nationalschool.gov.uk
Host: National School of Government
Time: 12 January, 6 July, 17 November

The programme is designed for Civil and Public servants responsible for engaging key stakeholders within the policy cycle.
Implementing large scale engagement projects poses many challenges and you will need to establish relationships in a range of ways throughout the decision making process; layering different activities for different audiences and subjects. This programme will enable you to explore the most appropriate methods of engagement such as media campaigns, citizens' juries, on-line discussions, deliberative fora and public meetings.
The course will show you how to assess and identify the methods to most suitably meet your needs and objectives; communicate the results and consider how to evaluate the effectiveness of any interventions. It will also show you how to match method choice (on-line polls, focus groups, public meetings) and desired outcomes with broader purposes and strategies.
