Biodiversity in the 21st Century: Are we missing the target?

A discussion with Professor Georgina Mace. TalkScience@BL is a quarterly event series that provides a forum for discussion on topical scientific issues, including a range of perspectives from academia, industry, government and the third sector. In recognition of 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity, this TalkScience@BL will explore how issues relating to biodiversity are becoming issues in public policy contexts, particularly in the face of climate change. Georgina Mace is the director of the Centre for Population Biology at Imperial College London. She was instrumental in developing the IUCN Red List of threatened species and is actively involved in setting international biodiversity targets.
