Big Data Social Intelligence paper influences Government Competitions and Markets Authority work on the commercial use of consumer data

On 27 January 2015, the Government's Competition and Markets Authority launched a call for information on the commercial use of consumer data. Their preparation for work in this area included extensive use of the Sciencewise Big Data social intelligence paper, and the paper by Josephine Suherman-Bailey on data policy. Adrian Leigh referred directly to the two papers, requested further discussions with Sciencewise and said:

"We are aware that Sciencewise has conducted important work of relevance to the issues we are considering".
